Brief: To replace 3 hamworthey 100kw boilers with new high effiency condensing boilers at a block of 33 flats in sheltered accomdation for the elederly with the proviso that the heating must not be turned off for more than 6 hours.

Three boderus boilers of the GB162 range were chosen for this project together with a high effiency heat exchanger to separate the boilers from the rest of the heating system.

On the first day of the installation we had to freeze the 100mm heating flow and return pipes and install isolating valves together with connections we had previously prefabricated to accommodate a temporary boiler which would maintain the heating system during the rest of the project.

The redundant boilers and pipework were then removed and the new boilers installed complete with a new flue system electrical wiring and insulation.

The project was completed in 2 weeks: The client placed a further order with us for a very similar project which was also completed in 2 weeks.

Brief: Urgent replacement of corroded Pipework

This Job was a emergency call from a major building services client whose engineers had discovered a major heating mains burst in an outside underground pipe duct at a special needs school . On arrival our engineers revealed the duct was full of debris a wall had been constructed directly across it and the pipes were banked one on top of the other and running at a 30 degree angle and pitched with the slope of the ground. To complicate matters more large electrical mains and data cabling had been installed in the duct. The extent of the corrosion only became apparent when the insulation was removed. The pipes were all shot in different places and consisted of 4x 65mm heating mains feeding different zones 1x 50mm gas main , 1x42mm and 1x35mm DHWS . The only solution was to replace them with new pipework along the entire length of the duct. Completion time 9 days:

A similar job on a larger scale at a college was successfully completed 12 months earlier for the same client.

Brief: Install gas supply

The client required us to size and install a new gas main to a new steam generating boiler with minimal disruption to production. The existing gas meter and outlet pipework were inadequate for the addition of the new boiler so we we installed a new 100mm gas main alongside the exisisting main with valved connections for other appliances. The new meter was then installed by Transco and we completed the change over to the new main connected the other appliances and decommissioned the old main and removed from site.
